How StakeMap Works
StakeMap continuously analyzes validator stakes and presents clear, actionable metrics. Below is a brief overview of how it operates and how to use it effectively.
- Automatic checks: Live data is refreshed continuously throughout the epoch. Complete snapshots of all validators and all available stakes are archived several times per epoch and at every epoch boundary.
- Data pipeline: Each scan is normalized, aggregated by validator and stake pool, and then visualized in the widgets and charts you see across StakeMap.
- Validator History: Every validator seen since epoch 820 has its own history file, one entry per finalized epoch. A validator page reads that file and adds the live epoch on top, so stepping through epochs is instant. Validators that hold no stake any more keep their pages.
Features: Categories, Sorting, and Historical data views allow you to explore the stake distribution in various ways.
Using The Validators List
The "Validators List" tab provides a comprehensive, searchable view of all validators included in the stake pool analysis.
- Search: Find validators by name, identity key, vote account, or even by the pools they are in. Former names work as well, and validators that hold no stake any more are listed under the results.
- Sorting: Rank validators by their total active stake, by the amount of activating/deactivating stake, or by vote account age.
- Pool Overview: Quickly see which major pools a validator participates in and the stake amount from each.
- Validator pages: Click a validator's name or avatar to open its page: stake history, its stakers, and a log of name, identity, commission and client changes.
Vote account age counts the epochs in which a vote account voted. It is a property of the vote account: a validator that moves to a new vote account starts again from zero. The numbers come from the Jito validator history where it covers the account and from this project's own records otherwise; "≥ N" means the account is older than those records reach.
Reading a Validator Page
A click on a validator's name or avatar anywhere on StakeMap opens its page.
- One epoch at a time: The numbers, the donut and the list of stakers show the selected epoch; the charts show the whole history with that epoch marked. Change the epoch in the bar at the top, with a click on a chart, or with the small epoch numbers under the charts. Yellow marks mean a past epoch.
- Stakers: Everyone who stakes with the validator in that epoch: pools, delegation programs, known holders, and the rest as "Other Stakes". A name opens the page of that pool or program with this validator selected. "All epochs" adds those that staked here in other epochs.
- Donut: A click on a slice or a legend row leaves only that staker in the list; a second click brings the others back.
- Top cards: Hover a card for the breakdown; click it to keep the tooltip on screen.
Contribute Stake Pools & Stakeholders
Our analysis relies on a curated list of stake pools and key stakeholders. Please submit PRs to add or update entries in our source of truth CSV file.

All historic and current epoch stake and pool aggregation data is public. Live JSON is served from data.stakemap.info and is refreshed continuously throughout the epoch. The data is available under CC BY 4.0. When using it, please attribute to StakeMap by CryptoVik.
